Moving the Mountains

Cathedral mountains are symbols,
Of reaching for higher ground.
How can we stand on the crest of our dreams,
If they tear those mountains down?

Why are they moving the mountains,
Destroying our God-given land?
How can you climb to the summit,
If there's no place left to stand?

The eagle might be grounded, too,
Without a snow-capped peak.
And why should he lose his habitat,
To mankind's spoil and reek?

What will a picture look like,
When all the mountains are gone?
Where can you watch the sunset,
Or welcome a rosy dawn?

How will the birds raise families,
If they cut down all the trees?
Don't they know they are trespassing?
Won't somebody stop them?
PLEASE.
