| Denver Delights ... From time to time, little things happen that remind you of John. They always make you smile ... I like to call them 'Denver Delights' ================================================================= Thanks for sending me your 'Denver Delights' ... Keep them coming and look for them in future newsletters ... Laura ================================================================= From Laura ... Last month my husband, Danny got new glasses. The frames he chose were from the John Lennon collection, however ... The sales lady who was helping him with them kept refering to them as JOHN DENVER glasses. :o) Works for me! From Patti ...I was channel surfing when I came upon a program, the "myths of country music" and there was Johnny. The myth was that he was a sharp shooter in the military and that Sunshine on My Shoulders was a song about his gun ... I laughed!!!! The truth, John's eye sight wasn't good enough for him to follow in his fathers foot steps into the Airforce. THANK GOD!!!! |

| Projects ... As Patti mentioned above ... Out of 88 members in our group, there are only 10 Windstar members! WHAT A SHAME! I know we all have good intentions when it comes to "trying to carry on" where John left off ... He managed to bring US all together ... and we need to hold up OUR end of the DEAL! So, with that said, be on the look out for a MUCH needed Windstar/Foxfire Connection membership drive! |
| Foxfire News Debra Chilton has taken over coordinating the connection groups. The webpage for the connection groups on the Windstar website has finally been updated and we are now listed on there. Just so you all know that I wasn't making up the fact that we do now have a connection group, you can go to the website and check it out. Our territory includes South Carolina, North Carolina and Virgina. I had requested folks who are Windstar members to send me there information being I had to send an annual report into Windstar with such info included. I thank those who responded. I was disappointed though to find that of the 80 or so people who are in the NC friends of JD group only 10 of us are Windstar members. It only cost $35.00 a year and it is tax deductable. So go to the Windstar website and download an application and sign up!!! www.wstar.org Are you just a fan of John's music or do you believe in saving our environment and are you willing to do something about it?! Come on and join!!!! When you do join, please let me know so I can keep a current list of members and won't have to scramble at the end of the year. You do what you can do and I'll do what I can do and ... together we can make a difference! |

| Come Celebrate Earth Day with us and Enjoy John Denver's Wildlife Concert ... at the North Carolina Zoo ... The NC Zoo is very excited about this and are offering us a venue to have it. So pencil in April 17th for a day at the zoo and to enjoy this concert. We will keep you updated as things progress. We may need some help to man the stand we hope to have advertising our group. Maybe we can get a part of the peace cloth for display and perhaps we can start our own panel. This is going to be FAR OUT! |
